For the Glory of the Almighty God!

Divine Unity

Sought to conquer a heart-

With no humble a part- -

Coveting to quench passion-

Can I Hate?

Ecclesiastes 3:8 A time to love and a time to hate. (NIV)

I can’t recall anyone I ever truly hated. But there have been some I intensely disliked.

My parents taught me the golden rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. They also taught me to love all people and not to show prejudice toward anyone because of race, religion or creed.

What’s Wrong With That?

Proverbs 30:20 “This is the way of an adulteress: She eats and wipes her mouth and says, ‘I’ve done nothing wrong.’ (NIV)

Her loud protests that she didn’t know it was wrong didn’t stop the spanking. Her dad had marched across the road and escorted her home for an unpleasant episode.

Stuffing Stuff

Job 31:33 “Have I tried to hide my sins like other people do, concealing my guilt in my heart? (NLT)

My wife and I are stuffers. How do I know? I look in closets, open cabinets, peer in the attic and peak under beds. And every crevice is full.

Hide And Seek

(excerpt from Morning Meditations by Martin Wiles)
Proverbs 28:13 People who cover over their sins will not prosper. (NLT)

They were too naïve to realize hands over the face didn’t disguise bodies. Of course, I pretended they did.

Of all the games that have resisted technological marvels, Hide and Seek is one. My grandparents and parents played it with me, I played it with my children, and when they have children they’ll no doubt repeat the pattern.

Heaven’s Cure All

(excerpt from Morning Meditations by Martin Wiles)

Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (NIV)

It was spring in the upper end of the County, and hundreds of people were gathered in our small town for the annual Relay For Life event. Food, vendors, entertainment, but most of all a festivity celebrating money raised to help discover a cure for cancer.

Missing The Mark

Numbers 32:23
(excerpt from Morning Meditations by Martin Wiles)

Numbers 32:23 You may be sure that your sin will find you out. (NLT)

One after one, they left our hands and sailed over the side of our grandfather’s truck. But we missed more than we hit.

Life On A Chain

Romans 6:1
(excerpt from Morning Meditations by Martin Wiles)

Romans 6:1 Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more kindness and forgiveness? (NLT)

“Can we keep her Dad? I’ll take care of her.” What dad hasn’t heard that line-and given in? Since my daughter was normally responsible, I considered the request.
