Proverbs 25:6-7
(excerpt from Morning Meditations by Martin Wiles)
Proverbs 25:6 Don’t…push for a place among the great. (NLT)
As a youngster, I was taught a strong work ethic. My parents were responsible and bordered on being perfectionists-a gene passed on to their firstborn, me.
At fourteen, my grandfather secured me a job as a bagboy at a local grocery store. I doubt I ever wondered much about the why of work. I had been taught it was part of life. So I went when I was scheduled and worked diligently.
