It’s perhaps the most frustrating thing about the sport. I encountered it occasionally with intermittent success and failure.
 

My maternal grandmother was a faithful fisherman, fishing whether they were biting or not. When I visited she carried me. Since she fished in the nooks and crannies of the big river and anchored next to the shore, it was easy for lines to get tangled.

If I was where God wanted me, why were things going south? Isn’t smooth sailing a sign of God’s blessings?
 

When God Gives A Thorn

II Corinthians 12:7 To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. (NIV)
 

It appeared on the side of my heel the first day. We couldn’t turn back but going forward would intensify the pain.
